Yes. It seems pointless! It gets the adrenaline pumping when you argue in the comments, and that feels exciting for a minute, but then you realize how pointless it is, especially when your "opponent" devolves into name calling and mudslinging. Sigh... I was interested to realize in political organizing that you don't try to change the minds of your opponents, but try to get your like-minded people to step up and vote. It's a matter of rallying the troops. Get good people to be braver and stronger and more public about how we want society to operate--about being kind and respectful to all people. As it is now, the a**holes shout louder and get all the attention. Good people also need to step up.
