Wow. This is really helpful to those of us who put personal stories online. I've been writing publicly about my family and my life for decades. I always try to imagine how they would feel if they read it. I don't make an effort to make them aware of my writing, because I don't really want the feedback! Hahahah! :) But I try to be sensitive, while also telling the truth. Your point about people experiencing the same event differently is a good one. Also, that motivation matters.
