Wow. That's not my experience. I love it when my husband makes a friend--which he almost never does. I dislike that he depends entirely on me for entertainment, companionship, intellectual stimulation, sex, and everything else life has to offer. It's too much dependence!!! My experience is women typically have at least a few friends but many men don't. I envy the wives of the men who have buddies. They get more breathing room than I do.
