Twain is funny but problematic in his use of the N-word, particularly in Huckleberry Finn. As a woman, imagine sitting in a classroom where people were reading a book out loud in which women were constantly called b**ches. It would be intolerable, at least to me. That’s one reason I don’t listen to a lot of rap music. Although I like the form, I object to language derrogating women. I don’t want to hear that.
