This is very interesting and I take your point that many Muslim women wear the veil as a statement of rejection of Western values and hegemony, but in Iran, women are protesting being forced to wear the veil as well as other losses of civil rights, correct? To choose to make a statement is one thing. To be forced by your government to do so is another.
