This is a super interesting story and reminds me of another one we published recently called "Raised by a Tradwife" which describes life in conservative Christian communities and also on military bases where many, many families buy into the "wife submits to husband" point of view. It seemed to me after reading that story that many tradwife influencers are cosplaying--or dressing up to play a role (and get fame and fortune), whereas real tradwives are mostly poor and endemic to the US. To me, this raises deep questions about whether these sects are a form of coercive control. Are women "free" to choose to be subservient, like a sub in a kink relationship, or are they brainwashed into it from childhood?
