This conversation reminds me of one I had a scant few years ago with my scientist daughter who exclaimed that we had discovered a new organ: the insterstitium. This is the space between our cells and our organs, which is filled with fluid. Previously, it was just thought of as a space, but now, apparently, it's considered an organ. Couldn't the soul also be a "real" thing (an organ), currently undiscoverable or unrecognizable--hiding in plain sight? There's a vast universe of things we don't know. I think having a soul is a possibility.
