• Protestors using the word "genocide" to describe what Israel is doing in Gaza--where 35,000 Palestinians have been killed (compared to 1,410 Israelis) since October, including 7,797 children and 4,959 women--are pointing out the relative helplessness of the people being bombed. It's not a war. It's a slaughter. People calling for it to stop are not anti-semitic. They are anti-slaughter.

As to which stories are boosted on Medium, hate speech of course must be disallowed. But raising alarms about injustice and humanitarian crises should in no way be stifled. Yes, the word "genocide" is alarming. That's the point.
