The media is so messed up. Desperate to make a dollar, the only way they see to do it is to stir up trouble and outrage and fear. It's particularly disturbing when you consider how they could easily be a force for good, using language that moves our society toward a more equitable and less violent and hateful world. I hadn't heard about this story until I read your piece. Thanks for keeping us up to date on rape and rape culture--and how it is perpetuated worldwide.
