That makes sense that JK Rowling modeled Hermione on herself, particularly given the example of unwanted advocacy that you provide. And after reading many of your stories, I have to agree you are more like Luna Lovegood! :)
I've been reading Katarina Lundren's stories on Fourth Wave and it's affected how much respect I have for the psychiatric profession--others who want to tell their patients what's best for them, regardless of how the patients respond. It's tricky, particularly for me, since I have a son with a major mental illness. I want doctors to be able to impose their will on him, and make him more normal and available to us. But I also want to respect him and listen to his analysis of what he needs (which never agrees with theirs). It's a fraught subject without a clear answer -- something Rowling must be aware of to have put in her books. I wonder if she ever doubts herself and her TERF advocacy?
