That is so sad and so wrong. I’m sorry, Missy. My son has been in jail on a minor charge of vandalism for four months now, and I’ve changed my mind. It’s cruel and unusual punishment. He won’t come to the visiting booth when I try to visit, and they won’t give me information about him because he won’t sign the forms to allow it. I don’t think he’s getting the medication he needs. I fear he’s doing very poorly in there. I’m thinking I will go with signs and protest outside the jail. Why is my son in jail and not the hospital? It’s unethical and wrong, and 1/3 of the inmates are in the same boat — ill people put in jail for their illness. :(
