Thanks for this story, Suma. I am struggling with this issue with one of my offspring who has a major mental illness and is very good at manipulating me through a combination of bullying and withdrawing love/approval (isn't that a form of bullying, too?). I'm trying to stand my ground. But it's not easy! Next time I'm struggling, I will think about your story. You are an inspiration to me.
