Thanks for another great piece, Amy! It seems that people who were systemically oppressed and have made some progress in throwing that off are optimistic whereas people who have "lost" power are pessimistic. But what power have they lost, really? Like you point out, not much. Maybe their wives are no longer their slaves and they have to do their own laundry. Cry me a river...
