Thank you so much for this eye-opening story. When thinking about the homelessness crisis, I hadn't really thought of the "financialization" of the housing market before. Isn't that also why all those people lost their houses in 2008? Because banks were gambling on housing prices? I wish we could make a law that no businesses can buy houses--just individuals. It's gross how profit comes before people in so many sectors all over the planet. It's so harmful to the vast majority of people. It's insane.
