Thank you for your point of view, Katarina. I always feel a little conflicted by your stories, because my son has schizoaffective disorder, or possibly bipolar with psychotic features (there's no definitive test!), and sometimes he's so far gone he needs to be forcibly medicated to bring him back to earth. So I'm in favor of that for people who are suffering. I've read many, many, many stories and books on the subject, and still don't feel 100% confident in my opinions on it. To leave him be would possibly lead to his death. He's currently homeless, delusional, and aggressive. But also, he's currently in jail, and that gives me a measure of comfort. I feel he's safe there. I hope they get some meds on board and his head on straight, then let him out. I'm trying to line up housing in the meantime. We'll see what happens next . . .
