Thank you for this super interesting story. After reading it, I get the impression that the "tradwives" on Instagram are cosplaying. Real tradwives are basically making ends meet on a shoestring. I don't have a problem with that, and personally, I wanted to stay home with my children as long as I could, which in my case was for 7 years, but that doesn't mean I'm not a feminist or don't believe in equal dignity, respect, and rights for women. In my case, it was essential that my husband turn over all the money management to me. That way, I wasn't controlled or oppressed financially. Had I been, I would have gone back to work sooner, if we could afford the childcare--which we probably couldn't have. That's why governments need to provide free childcare. And I say teach tradwives to take control of the finances, then gender equity will result.
