Marley, I hear you. I hate all the racist aggressions you mention. And I agree that schools don't teach useful skills, and that the literature meant to expand hearts and minds is poorly selected. But I'm curious why you pick out To Kill a Mockingbird? I used to teach high school English and thought that was a good book to bring up the topic of racism and the civil rights movement and a biased justice system, etc.
