Just last night I wrote almost the exact same line (hunger for stories of women) in my review of "We Are Lady Parts" on Peacock. Loved that show!
If you like comedy, "The Mindy Project" is great and so is "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." I just finished watching "Ozark" which is a tense crime drama along the lines of "Breaking Bad" and has strong female characters but also some serious violence in every episode (maybe a minute out of 60). For sci-fi, "Watchman" has THREE kick-ass women lead characters. It's great. "Succession" is a good family drama with a strong sister, based kinda sorta on the media mogul Rupert Murdock family. I'm watching "Hacks" but not completely loving it--two female leads there. "Mare of Easttown" was good, but it's got the dead woman victims that plague so many detective series. For more police series try "Broadchurch" with the incomparable Olivia Coleman and also "The Unforgotten." One of these days I will try "The Good Wife" because Christine Baranski is fabulous, although I'm not sure if she's the lead or just a guest star and I hate the title.
That should hold you for awhile! Hahahah! Happy viewing!
Oh! Almost forgot "Chewing Gum" and "I May Destroy You) (first is hilarious and second is hard stuff about sexual harassment/assault) and "Fleabag" from across the pond. And "Killing Eve."
Yeah, I'm a woman-lead TV addict, I guess. So glad there's a lot to choose from!
