It's wrong to leave people in psychosis on the streets. It exposes them to harm including physical danger up to an including death and alienates them from everyone including family and friends. It's right for the community to force people into treatment, but wrong to do it via jail. We need to reopen our long-term mental health facilities (aka asylums) and let patients stay in them as long as they need to in order to get well, not kick them back onto the street 3 days after admission because you need the bed for someone else.
