I'm sorry to hear this, John. I live in SF too, and it's the place I like best on the planet. It's so discouraging that the government can't make a dent in the homelessness problem, even after creating a Department of Homelessness and spending LOTS of money on it. My personal opinion is we need to re-open asylums and mandate free stays for people with obvious mental illness; likewise addicts at treatment centers. But it seems our government is broken and can't get meaningful and important things done. You mention moving halfway accross the ocean. Does that mean Hawaii?
