I'm so sorry about your son. Are they giving him meds in jail? One of the worst days of my life was visiting my son in jail where he was NOT being given medication and was consequently completely out of his mind and suffering tremendously. Most of our mental hospitals are closed so people with mental illness are sent to jail instead. One third of the people in jail are mentally ill.

The inhumanity of our country is appalling. It's seen in so many places--the way we treat the mentally ill, people of color, women, drug addicts, homeless people, and poor people is shameless. Meanwhile we celebrate heartless oligarchs like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. This is what comes of worshiping money.

I'm sorry to preach. I'm sure you've seen it all. I will pray for you and your son. I don't believe in god, but I believe in prayer, and that kindness and caring about the fate of other people changes the "chemistry" of our planet and makes our world a better place to live. I hope they will put your son in a pleasant hospital where he can be taken care of and enjoy his life as much as possible, and where you can visit him. I'm so sorry for your pain and your son's. :(
