I'm glad to hear that was your experience. I think the scholar was pointing out that many movie goers want to see violence on the screen. In this particular movie, it was against Osage people, and that offended her--to have their trauma made into entertainment. It's the same with all violent movies; suffering becomes entertainment. Women are often also the recipients of violence, both in real life and on screen. The question is, why are these movies made? Why do movie goers want to see violence? It's a valid question.
