I wonder why perjorative terms like "gold digger" are applied only to women, when the scams I read about are all perpetuated by men. Did you see the Tinder Swindler, for example? That guy pretended he loved LOTS of different women in order to get his hands on their money, and I've heard of some women (friends of friends) getting "catfished," but not men.

If a rich old man marries a pretty young woman, like DJT and Melania, why is she reviled? They made a deal: his money for her beauty. And the women who make those deals usually live up to their end of the bargain, living with the old coot until he dies, unlike the pretty boy who married Brittany Spears. Yet I never heard him called a gold digger. It's just more garden variety misogyny for conservatives and incels to get their panties in a twist about "hypergamy."
