I was raised Catholic and was struck as a child by the Holy Trinity lacking a woman. So there's a father, a son, and a ghost? That just seemed crazy to me. Where is the mother?

Then the fact that women couldn't touch the host, or lead a mass or the congregation was problematic.

I don't love that the apostles are all men, and even though Jesus had a woman in his inner circle, she was mostly erased in the Bible, and branded a prostitute. Her gospels were repressed.

I don't like that the original woman, Eve, is blamed for all the ills of the world, and told pain in childbirth was a punishment she brought on herself. For what? For eating from the Tree of Knowledge, and "convincing" Adam to do the same (so much for man's "innate" leadership; sounds like a follower to me). So...what? We were supposed to stay ignorant and naked in "Paradise," like cows?

None of it makes sense and all of it is disrespectful of women. And that's just the Catholics. At least they have some independent nuns. But most religions are similar: telling women they're the root of all evil, etc. That they're unclean or impure when they menstruate and can't enter the temple. Please! It's all too much. That's why I've decided to start my own cult... https://medium.com/the-taoist-online/i-want-to-start-a-new-cult-9828164873d7
