I used to ask my daughter when she was going to have children until I read "The Mother of All Questions" by Rebecca Solnit and realized it was a feminist issue. This accomplished author and journalist who had published more than 20 books and countless essays was asked by an interviewer why she didn't have children. She tried to dismiss the question to focus on her work, but that was all he was interested in, returning to it again and again. That's when I realized it was wrong to send the message to my daughter that she was somehow less, or incomplete, or not as loveable if she didn't have children. She is perfect unto herself. <3
