I think because I grew up with four sisters and no brothers, in an era when parents ignored their children for most of the day, I was untouched by the patriarchy until puberty. Then I felt betrayed and very upset by how my status changed. I think it was you who wrote something very compelling about what happens to girls when they change from people to sex objects in society's eyes. That spoke to me. But I'm not jealous of other women. I don't need men's attention (except my partner), and even though I think about dieting a lot, I rarely do it and am mostly satisfied with how I look. Yay! I do apologize and say yes more than I want to, but I'm noticing and working on those. Still. At 65. Sheesh! :)

Thanks for your many good insights in this and all you write. Would love to have something of yours in Fourth Wave sometime. https://medium.com/fourth-wave
