I remember the first time I was called ma'am, in a Starbucks. I didn't like it! The friend I was with made fun of me for it as we exited. "Oh! So you're a ma'am now!" I also don't like it when barristas call me miss since I'm obviously older. I like your suggestion: queen! Hahahah! Madame doesn't sound too bad, either...only because it seems playfully theatrical. Or how about just my name?
