I read a story by a Biblical scholar that said abortion isn't prohibited in the Bible, and was not an issue in Western countries until the 1950s. Still today, church leaders don't insist on religious rites for miscarriages. To me, that proves opposing abortion is not a religious issue, but a tactic to keep women under control.

I myself had an abortion when I got pregnant in college. It was a hard decision. But later, when I had my first baby, a friend suggested that it was the same one. The soul had gone back to a kind of "waiting room" until I was ready, then inhabited a new body. I like that idea! And it makes as much sense to me as what some church leaders say. In the end, you have to decide for yourself what is right for your life and your body.
