I only recently realized what an obvious lie it is to say women are more emotional than men. That statement requires you don't count anger as an emotion. Men are far MORE emotional than women, and their emotions cause actual physical and life threatening harm to others. Almost every mean and violent act is driven by emotion. I'm also a big fan of this story by Mona Lazar which says female elite athletes are less emotional than male ones. https://medium.com/fourth-wave/high-performance-women-are-less-emotional-than-men-4bea864eaab5
But in the end, like you say, we shouldn't shame people for feeling. That's what makes us human. And if Darwin considered it an evolutionary advantage, who am I to argue? Great piece, Lacie!
