I often see things through a gendered lens. But sometimes it's a matter of personality. My friend in a lesbian relationship has many of the problems I do in a hetero one. It's hard to achieve equality in any relationship, and the subservient member has to work harder to achieve it, since the dominant one is less likely to notice, since they are better served.
