I am an older woman, soon to be 70, and it's wonderful to see the way consent has evolved since my youth, when "date rape" hadn't even been invented yet! If a man "took advantage" on a date when you didn't want him to, that was your fault for letting him into your apartment (or whatever). Men couldn't help themselves, or so the story went. It's such obvious bullshit now, but we couldn't see it then. I believed what society told me to believe. Now, it all comes down to a simple idea--don't have sex with someone who doesn't want to have sex with you! If you do, it's rape--having sex with someone against their will (or without their will, if they are drunk or otherwise incapacitated). That is not too much to ask. Only fuck willing partners.
