I admire your bravery! It's hard for a woman to admonish strange men in public. You were perfectly right to tell him he was taking up too much space, and the way you said it was kind of funny, too. Probably if a man had sat there he would have removed his hand. I am in agreement that men need to police other men. That way they will listen and change their behavior. They won't do it for women.
