But as we all learned in high school health class, unwanted pregnancies require two participants. So why must women alone bear the responsibility and shame of pregnancy prevention, and face the blame and consequences that come with its failure? Why are all reproductive rights cast into the bucket of “women’s issues,” when, biologically speaking, men play an equal role in preventing pregnancy?
